His noted books are “Aadhe Adhure” and “Aashaad Ka Ek Din” and was awarded the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 1968. He died died on 3 January, 1972 at the age of 46.

Her career spans over 30 years and she is best known for her performances in Ittefaq, Gumnaam, Kanoon, Jab Jab Phool Khile, Chhoti Bahen, The Train, Hum Dono and Prem Rog. She died in Mumbai on 25 March 2014 at her Versova residence.
